Time to take a trip down old Route 66 with four snappy young pump jocks who will take you to various stops along the historic “Mother Road.” They portray a menagerie of characters as they sing and dance to timeless pop and country tunes including all the biggest travel songs of the ’50s and ’60s. The trip starts in Chicago and travels along America’s main streets way out to the California coast with the surf music of the ’60s. This rockin’ revue features the greatest highway hits of the 20th century as it takes you down memory lane with a song list that includes “King of the Road,” “Little Old Lady from Pasadena,” “Six Days on the Road,” “GTO,” “Fun, Fun, Fun,” “Dead Man’s Curve,” “I Get Around” and, of course, “Route 66.” The ’50s music is energizing and fun for all ages – from the jazzy pop of Chicago, the two-stepping hoedown of Texas and the beach-bumming car jams of California. This is the road trip of a lifetime with solid harmonies, dazzling quick-changes, flashy dance numbers and hilarious comedic timing. So come on cats, put the pedal-to-the-medal and join all the truckers, bikers and drag racers who get their kicks on “Route 66!” This fun show was created by Roger Bean.
